Elsworth Sports Club
Elsworth Sports Club, formed over one hundred years ago, has its base, the playing field and pavilion, positioned reasonably centrally in the village with vehicle access from Broad End. The playing field can accommodate two football pitches and has a cricket square with a large outfield. The current pavilion was built in 1999, has changing rooms with showers, toilets, a hall and kitchen, disabled access and toilet, and may be hired for private functions.
The club runs a football team which plays in the Cambs League, currently in Division 1 of the Junior League, with matches taking place on Saturday afternoons throughout the season which runs from September to early May.
The club also runs a cricket team which likewise plays in the Cambs League, currently in Division 4 of the Junior League, again with matches taking place on Saturdays during the season which runs from May until early September. A team also plays in the midweek evening Business Houses League.
Table Tennis is also played in the pavilion with the club having three teams in the Cambridge League and two teams in the Ely League. These matches are played during the season which runs from September to April, on midweek evenings.
Coaching is available for junior cricket and table tennis during their respective seasons.
Carpet Bowls and Snooker (on a quarter size table) can also be played in the pavilion.
